How PORISM works

Everything about the coin, the vault and the agent, in plain words, with a way to check each part yourself.

What PORISM is

PORISM is a coin on pump.fun. Every time anyone buys or sells it, pump.fun charges a small fee, and part of that fee goes to the coin's creator.

The creator fee belongs to the team. The team funds a burn vault, sending SOL to it when it chooses. The vault is a program on Solana that can do one thing with money: buy PORISM and destroy the coins it bought.

How the burn works

  1. Someone trades PORISM. On pump.fun, PumpSwap, or any app. The trade pays a creator fee of 0.30%.
  2. The team claims the fees. Like any pump.fun creator, the team collects the fee from every trade.
  3. The team funds the vault. When it chooses, the team sends SOL to the burn vault.
  4. The vault buys PORISM. Only inside fixed limits: a most per buy, a most per day, and a wait between buys.
  5. Everything bought is burned. In the same transaction. Nothing is held and nothing can be sold.
  6. The supply shrinks. Fewer coins remain, and the next trade starts the loop again.

After PORISM graduates from pump.fun to PumpSwap, the loop keeps running the same way on PumpSwap.

What the agent does

The agent is a bot that runs around the clock and does the chores. It has two jobs.

  • Buy and burn. Every so often it asks the vault for a little SOL, buys PORISM, and burns it, all in one transaction. The vault checks the whole transaction first and cancels it if anything is off.
  • Predict in public. Every minute it makes a call on SOL's price, locks it on chain before the answer is known, and lets the price feed grade it.

What it cannot do

  • Take money out of the vault.
  • Keep any coins it buys.
  • Change the spending limits.
  • Hide a wrong prediction.

If the agent ever stops, nothing is lost. SOL waits safely in the vault until it starts again.

Where the fees go

The creator fee from every trade belongs to the team, as with most pump.fun coins. The team claims it like any creator.

Burns are funded by the team: it sends SOL to the vault when it chooses, and as much as it chooses. What the vault does with that SOL is not a choice: once it is in the vault, it can only buy PORISM and burn it. Every transfer to the vault and every burn is a public transaction.

The prediction scoreboard

Every minute the agent guesses whether SOL's price will be above or below a level two minutes later. It locks the guess on chain as a sealed code, so nobody can read it or change it before the answer is known.

When the time comes, the guess is opened and graded against the Pyth price feed. The grade comes from the feed, not from us. A guess that is never opened counts as wrong after 24 hours, so misses can never be hidden.

The scoreboard does not affect the coin or the vault. It is there to show, in public, that the machine keeps an honest record.

Every rule, proved

The rules the money follows are written as math in Lean 4 and checked by a computer. Here are all 26 of them, with the name of each theorem.

Spending limits

  • After any accepted buy, spending in the current epoch is within the epoch cap.spend_within_epoch_cap
  • No accepted buy is larger than the per buy cap.buy_within_buy_cap
  • An accepted buy always respects the minimum gap since the last buy.gap_respected
  • An accepted buy is never zero.buy_is_positive
  • An accepted buy records the current time as the last buy.last_buy_is_now

Buying

  • The keeper never ends a buy holding more SOL, plain or wrapped, than it had before the buy began.keeper_never_profits
  • No wrapped SOL is left behind after a buy.no_wrapped_sol_left
  • Every token the swap bought is burned. The keeper ends holding what it held before.everything_bought_is_burned
  • A buy only completes if it actually bought something.something_was_bought
  • The burn is exactly the tokens gained during the swap.burn_equals_tokens_gained
  • Any SOL the swap did not spend, plain or wrapped, is sent back to the vault.leftover_goes_back

Burning

  • A burn empties the vault completely.burn_empties_vault
  • A burn removes exactly what was held from the supply. Nothing is lost or created.burn_conserves
  • No single action lets tokens leave the vault without being burned.step_keeps
  • Over any sequence of actions, every token that entered is still held or was burned.nothing_leaves_unburned

The record

  • A reveal is accepted only if it matches the sealed commitment.reveal_matches_commitment
  • Revealing never changes what was sealed.reveal_keeps_commitment
  • Only a revealed claim can be settled.settle_needs_reveal
  • The grade comes only from the committed prediction and the feed price. Who settles does not matter.grade_comes_from_price
  • The price used was published inside the settlement window.price_was_in_window
  • The price must belong to the claim's own feed.feed_must_match
  • A claim is graded once. A settled claim can never be settled again.settled_once
  • A settled claim can never be turned into an expired one.settled_never_expires
  • An expired claim always counts as wrong, so misses cannot be hidden.expired_counts_wrong
  • Nothing can be expired while the grace window is still open.cannot_expire_early
  • A price exactly at the threshold is wrong in both directions.equal_price_is_wrong

Check it yourself

Every buy, burn and fee payment is a public transaction. These are the accounts to look at, on Solana devnet.

What could go wrong

  • The price can still fall. The burn removes coins, but nothing controls what people pay for the rest.
  • Burns depend on the team. The team decides when and how much to send to the vault. The vault only guarantees that what it receives is burned.
  • A buy could get a poor price. The agent cannot take money, but a buy can land at a bad moment. The limits keep any single buy small.
  • It depends on pump.fun and Pyth. If either changes how it works, the agent needs an update. The vault's rules stay the same.
  • Software has bugs. The programs are tested and the rules are proved, and an outside audit comes before launch. Nothing is perfect.

The fine print

PORISM is a meme coin with a machine attached. It is not an investment, not financial advice, and comes with no promise of value. Only buy what you can afford to lose, and do your own research.
